Hi! Welcome to the official Caliber Coffee Blog! My name is Amanda Johnson, and I am so excited to be able to introduce myself to you. We may have already met in person or you may have seen me behind the counter, but I am excited to get the opportunity to share one of my main passions with you here: telling stories. For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about stories. In both the hearing and the telling of stories there is an immense sense of power. Something as simple as someone sharing their story can open you up to something entirely new or help to affirm something within yourself. The ability to change a perspective by relaying a particular experience is a fascinating and important opportunity.
When talking about stories, it is important to recognize that everything has a story. From your favorite pair of shoes to the people you know best, everything is made up of a series of events and circumstances that work together to bring meaning to a person or thing. Stories make us and shape us, and they allow us to relate to one another in a way that creates a sense of understanding and compassion. No matter how insignificant a story may seem on the surface, it deserves the opportunity to be truly seen and heard.
In allowing someone to share their story, you are opening the door to create community, to truly open yourself up to understanding what it means to take your own narrative and live in harmony with someone else’s. Community is vital in the creation of successful relationships, and it is something that Caliber Coffee has taken seriously from day one. Everyday, Caliber strives to be a place where community is created, invested in, and shared. From the moment the doors open in the morning until they close at night, individuals from all walks of life choose to make Caliber a part of their day, something that we do not take lightly.
Because of this, I am happy to announce the creation of content focused solely on fostering community and exploring the on-going narrative of our Donelson based coffee shop. With the periodic publishing of articles, employee and customer profiles, as well as announcements on the website, we hope to be able to engage the Donelson community in a real and personal way. We at Caliber hope that as we begin the process of sharing our story with you, you will feel open and willing to share yours with us.
